Vista Del Camino Park in Scottsdale is part of the Scottsdale Greenbelt, between Thomas and McKellips. It’s a great area in South Scottsdale to spend time outside. There is a walking path, lots of places to play sport, playgrounds, a lake and of course, a splash pad!
My kids love this splash pad! There are fountains that spray up, two circles, one palm tree and a whale fin that was not spraying on the day we were there. Large and spread out so that lots of kids could all share in the water activities. There is a little standing water that smaller kids could sit in and play, while still being close enough to older brothers and sisters and parents can stay mostly dry. There is also a concrete climbing area for big kids to climb, it doesnt have water sprayed on it, so it’s not too slippery. The water from the spray poles all drain into the lake. There is a bench that is about 100 feet away if you need to keep your stuff dry. The rest is surrounded by grass that gets a little wet. But there is plenty of room for adults to stay dry but still close to kids getting wet. And if you want to get a little cool off with the kids, you can easily walk through.
On the day we were there we met more dogs in the splash poles that kids. There are a lot of dogs walking in the area so I am not surprised.
If you want to park closest to the splash pad, pull in at the community center off Rosevelt and follow the driveway around and you will find this parking lot.
The Vista Del Camino playground could definitely use a little lovin. Whoever writes grafitti on playgrounds has a special spot in you know where. There is a climbing wall with steps, a bridge, three slides, to big kid sings, two toddler sings and games to play.
