Tutu Ballet School in Arcadia has the founding principle that every child should know what it feels like to dance. This is the exact reason I signed my two year olds up for a trial class as soon as they showed interest in dancing.
I was not sure where to start in my dance class search, I didn’t even know if boys were allowed to take dance classes! I asked around and found TuTu School in Arcadia. I registered my two year old daughter for a free trial class, thinking that it would be a fun one on one Mommy/Daughter date. However, due to the worst cold and flu season ever, we ended up rescheduling and I needed to bring my son. I was happy to hear he was more than welcome! After all, every princess has a prince.
During class we started off in our butterfly circle as each kid ran around the circle on their tip toes. Next was the warm up circle for stretching, my kids favorite was the mermaid stretch. Then on to the standing circle, and then on to dancing across the floor. Work on tip toe walks forwards, backwards, hopping, marching, jumping. There were feathers, bubbles, coloring and so much fun!
Registration is ongoing and couldn’t be easier. You can come and go as needed. They offer make up classes which area easily scheduled online. Tutu School tuition is charged in increments based on a yearly membership evenly divided across 12 months. They cap class size at 10 students. When you register for a class, you are paying to hold your child’s place in class, not each individual lesson. They offer unlimited make-ups for missed classes providing the child remains enrolled. If you join in the middle of a month your membership will be pro-rated. You may cancel your membership at any time during the current month effective the following month.

“Dance allows children the opportunity to be creative and to exercise their imaginations as well as their bodies. It is a great learning experience for children to be in a classroom environment with other kids their age learning specific steps, positions, and across the floor movements. I think it is so important for every child to have the opportunity to dance and I love working at a studio where I can make that happen!” – Regan Norton, studio coordinator.
Happy Twirling!
TuTu School Arcadia is currently streaming all of their regular classes, at their regularly scheduled time, so that dancers can continue to twirl. These classes are in addition to on site classes and a great way to support the community!
