We went to Flagstaff for the weekend, and thought we’d share some of our favorite places
Are you looking for a great park for kids in Flagstaff? May we suggest Thorpe Park located on the west side of town. It’s a fantastic regional park with lots of cool play areas for all ages, swings, four lighted tennis courts (and two others that are unlit), and much more!
The park occupies more than 219 acres also features three youth baseball fields, four lighted adult softball fields, a nice picnic armada, two racquetball courts, a disc golf course, a dog area, and both portable and permanent restrooms.
We were visiting Flagstaff for the weekend, and our two kids (ages 1 and 4) wanted to run around. We found Thorpe Park by looking for parks on the Yelp app on my phone.
Thorpe Park has lots of swings for toddlers and children. We had a blast on them. They also have two play areas. There’s a smaller one for toddlers and 2 year olds, and a bigger play area for ages 3+. Our four year old daughter loved this one, and went down the tunnel slides numerous times.
We arrived on a perfectly cool 65 degree day in October. They had lots of green grass that is perfectly manicured. There were even some nice fall leaves falling and we captured some fun autumn pictures of the kids.
There’s a jungle gym designed to look like a fire truck. Our daughter had a lot of fun sliding down the pole. The back side of the park has a little pine forest and it provides shade for the bouncy toys.
We’ll definitely be back! We loved this park, and so did our children.
The park is open to the public, has free entrance, and free parking along the street. Bathrooms are free. Check out this handy guide to Flagstaff parks provided by the City of Flagstaff.
