Things to Do in Munds Park With Kids. Looking for a place to escape from the heat in the summer, or a place to go enjoy the snow in the winter? Head north to Munds Park, about 20 minutes south of Flagstaff!
This blog post lists activities and favorite food stops. If you’re looking for a place to stay, check out our post of Best Airbnbs for Families in Arizona – there are two options listed in Munds Park.
Food & Drink
Kota’s Coffee House is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. This small cafe has a variety of coffee drinks, a breakfast and lunch menu, as well as a few items on the kids menu. They have a book collection, as well as crayons and things to entertain kids. They also have treats for your four legged friends.
Pinewood Restaurant and Bar has a little bit of everything to eat. During the summer they are closed on Wednesday. During the winter, confirm hours as they vary.
There is a General Store located in the Munds Park RV Resort for the things you may have forgotten.
Mary Coyle Ice Cream has varying hours, so stop by, but maybe don’t promise kids anything unless you know for sure it’s open!
Also, don’t miss Agee’s BBQ – seriously amazing BBQ, but get there right when they open! We first stopped by in the afternoon around 2pm and they were sold out. Arriving at open time (11am) ensures you’re able to get what you’d like.
Lake Odell
Only part of this lake is actually public, so be sure that you aren’t trespassing. It is not a swimming lake, but great for fishing or boating.
Community Playground
This basic playground is located off Pinewood Blvd and Walapi Rd, behind the fire department. It is a fun stop to burn energy!
Hiking
I found this top hiking spots map on Alltrails, and saved them all for reference.

Little Free Libraries
If your kids go through books as fast as mine, you know you can never have enough! We brought some books we were outgrowing with us on our trip, and swapped them for new books at the various Little Free Libraries throughout town. Check out the Little Free Library website here, and download the app for a great map that helps you find all the local spots.
Rock Painting
If you need something to do while staying inside, paint some rocks and ass them to the rock trail by the Pinewood County Country Club
Splurge
Rent something fun to drive around and explore the for a full day or half day at Munds Park Off Road Rentals.
