Thanksgiving Day Walks and Running Events in Greater Phoenix Area

So, you’ve decided to do a little bit of exercise before gorging on tons of food this Thanksgiving. There are lots of people interested, and thus a number of events scheduled for Thanksgiving Day.

Most of these are 1-3 mile walk/run, and there are several events in the Phoenix area. This list will help you select an event based on location, distance, and cost.

Phoenix (Wesley Bolin Plaza) — $39/person, 3 miles, start at 8:15am.

Fountain Hills — $20 (before Nov 14, then $30) 3 miles, start at 7:30am; also saw a 1 mile walk option for $10 at the same location.

Anthem — $25 (before Nov 16, then $30), 3 miles, start at 9am.

Mesa — Turkey Trot (2 mile or 1 mile) in Mesa (Red Mountain Park) —┬áStarting at 8:15am or 8:30 depending on the distance, $15/person.

With all of these races, the race fee includes a t-shirt and bib number/tag. Walking the course is welcome, strollers too for the youngsters — just start at the back of the line so runners don’t get mad at you :-).

We live in Scottsdale, AZ and were married in 2010 and have a daughter who is 6 years old. She's full of energy, and so we're always looking for new things to do. We also have a 3 year old son! That's why we made this web site, to share them with you.
