Summer project: Make a caterpillar from an egg carton

My wife helped our almost-three year old toddler make caterpillars from egg cartons recently, and I thought I would share the results. These are extremely simple to make, and you can decorate them as much, or as little as you want. Some people go as far as to paint their caterpillars, while other people just use crayons or glitter with glue. Do whatever is easiest!

Supplies:

You can create the antenna from pipe cleaners, like we used, or an alternative is to use straws.

You’ll need egg cartons. We used the ones from Costco, which we cut with scissors.

We used some little round felt things for eyes, but you can use fabric, or paper, or those googly eyes.

You’ll need a marker to draw the mouth and eyes.

Have fun, and remember it’s all for fun.
