We stumbled across Stonegate Equestrian Park in Scottsdale a while back and loved it so much, the kids keep asking to go to the horse park! There are nearby farms and lots of horse properties, so there are often lots of horses around. The nature trail is great for hikes and it has never been crowded when we are there.
Playground
This sand playground offers very little shade, just a warning, bring your sunscreen. However there is a big kids playground and nearby toddler playground. The slides, towers and so many different ways to climb are a big hit. There are two big kid swings, excavator for digging and a water spout. Great for playing in the mud!
The toddler playground was lots of fun for my three-year-olds. We had numerous races on the horses. There is not any shade in this area.
Picnic
There is one reservable ramada in the back of the park, located directly next to the playground and grass area. This would be perfect for a blow-up bounce house or other party activities at the park.
There are 4 shaded picnic tables located by the building in the front of the playground area. This would be a good spot to host a messy meal with a great view. The restrooms are also located up here for convenience. There is also a little reservable room in there for future events, not currently open. You can see the horse arenas from here, so you may have free entertainment.
