Snakes and Lattees in Tempe is the largest board game bar and cafe in the state. Do you know who loves board games? Kids. Kids love board games. Possibly because somehow they always win?
Games
With the largest selection in the state there is a game for everyone. The kids section had quite a few. I did not browse the adult games while we were there, but there were so many to choose from. The menu comes with a recommendation list on the back and tells you where to look for games by age.
It costs $3 for kids 12 and under and $6 for adults to stay and play the over 900 board games they have to offer. We let each kid pick one at a time to play. Fun to play new games we did not have at home.
Food
You can view the full menu here. This is a full service restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Note that items are only available at certain times. We were there lunch time, so kids tried the mac and cheese from the adult menu. I had asked for fries and no tomato to make it look more kid friendly. It was kid approved by both of mine, along with the apple and orange juice drinks they tried. Dad and I split an appetizer and it was good.
If you are there to eat and play, you may want to time your order better than we did. We were halfway through our first game when our food showed up. There wasn’t really enough room for food and a game with kids and drinks on the table.
Patio
There is also a patio that you can enjoy your games, food, drinks and dog’s company!
