Playgrounds Fun Zone and Cafe in Glendale

We visit Play Grounds Fun Zone & Cafe about once a month with our friends. Located off the 101 and Union Hills Drive in Glendale, it is a hike for us. But well worth it!
This is a great location for play dates because it has something for everyone. This is a 3500 sq foot indoor play area that has the extra security of a gated play area that toddles can't escape from. There is lots of seating for eating as well as couches for lounging while kids play. The whole place feels clean, which is always great.

This location is permanently closed. But take a look at this list of other indoor play places!

There is a Little Crawler area for infants up to 16 months. A play house, foam mats and rockers are excellent for these movers and shakers. The staff enforces that no older kids are allowed to play in here. This is great for new movers so they are not trampled by older kids. If no “babies” are around, “big kids” are allowed to pay in here.

There is a Toddler area for children under 42 inches that is a great starting area for kids new to climbing and sliding. A climbing structure, tunnel and slides the perfect size for new adventurers. Also no chance of getting too far away from the parents since it is a single maze and enclosed with a play gate. The two story big kid area includes multiple slides, obstacle course, punching bags to hide in, rope play area, boards and lots of room to climb and explore.

The two story slides are always a favorite, large enough for adults to slide down with kids but small enough for young kids to slide alone. There are a variety of rides including an abundance of cozy copes and plasma cars. Plenty of room for everyone to play and parents to hang out close by. It gets a little busy, but it never feels too crowded. A great combination of playing equipment for families with a range in ages.

There is a full cafe inside with daily specials, small bites and quick snacks. There is a full coffee bar menu to chose from as well as many kid friendly drinks. We have tried the waffles, pizza, French toast sticks, both a big hit with my kids. The French toast sticks were devoured by my kids (22 months). My favorite part is that you can open a tab! Yes like a bar tab.  That way you can pay for your entry, grab snacks, treats or meals and close it out when you leave.

The play place hosts parties as well as art classes (additional cost, see web site for schedule and additional information). There are discount tickets available online for first time visitors, Verizon Up customers as well as monthly memberships. The owner is a fellow twin MoM with grown twins. She watches out for kids playing, helps in the kitchen and at the registers.
