Parada del Sol in Scottsdale

parada-del-sol-logoI can’t believe it, but another year has gone by and here we are in February! The most exciting event in Scottsdale is the Parada del Sol at about this time of year. This year, they have a parade (at 10 am) and a rodeo (the next weekend) and more.

You can get additional info about the parade on their paradadelsol.us web site, or by watching this video.

Scottsdale Event Calendar

The calendar for the 61st Annual Parada del Sol is as follows:

  • Parade
  • PRCA Champions Challenge Rodeo
  • PRCA Rodeo

It’s a great place to take the kids! See my photo above from last year and be sure to bring a camera, a chair, and something to drink. The weather will be perfect, as usual, and it’s a great fun! Watching the parade is always free.

Where in Scottsdale is the Parada del Sol?

The parade starts at Scottsdale and Oak every year, just north of McDowell Rd and ends at Scottsdale Rd and Indian School Road. The Trails End Celebration is one block south of Indian School and East of Scottsdale Road.

Parada del Sol through the years

I’ve been going to the parade for years! My first time was when I was a child (back in the 1980s) and I even walked in the parade once with a bunch of people as part of a group.

Here are a few photos from the parade.
