We love a park with sand, shade, grass, and some fun playground equipment. That’s exactly what we found when we stopped by Scottdale Papago Rotary Park!
Playground
This sand playground is covered by a giant shade structure, providing shade all day long which is a great feature.
The toddler structure has slides, stairs, round steps, a corner store, and a fun pop-out window for the little kids. The big kid structure has slides, a rock wall, monkey bars, slides, and lots of climbing bars. Two toddler swings and 2 big kid swings are in the sun full time. There are two spinners that the kids had lots of fun on.
Picnic
A couple of picnic tables are located in the park near trees. Shade depending on the time of day. No ramada here..
Park
This 1-acre park hidden in a south Scottsdale neighborhood features a playground, half basketball court, grass volleyball court. There are no restrooms here. If you are planning on having a catered event, inflatables or any specialty item they ask that you call the facility in advance to verify the company’s insurance information. For information reserving a field click here.
While there is not an actual fence between the park and the playground, there is a chain. I told my kids they could not cross it, and it helped. This park is directly along the street (see pic below) but it is a residential street and it was not busy at all on the road while we were there.
Getting There
Park right in front of the playground on Garfield Street. Super convenient.
