Old West fun at Old Tucson is where the Wild West comes alive for the whole family!

We had an amazing time enjoying all that Old Tucson has to offer, and trust us, there’s enough to fill an entire day. Between shows and activities and lunch and browsing the gift shop, this is definitely the place to take your time with the family. What’s great about Old Tucson is that everything (except food and souvenirs) are included with general admission!

We definitely made use of the map and show listings handed out when we entered. There’s something happening every hour at various parts of the town! Everything is marked clearly on the map, and there’s always friendly employees to help answer questions.

The day starts with the opening ceremony and flag raising at the town square. From there, have your pick of shows, or enjoy the activities. We did a little of both! There’s numerous shows to experience, from a Jesse James jail break, to a high noon duel, and even a stunt demonstration. Our favorite was the Ballad of Bonney Will, a 20 min musical telling the story of Billy the Kid. The actors were very convincing in their parts and our 9 year old was glued. What a great way to learn about history!

The highlight for our 5 year old was the carousel and petting zoo. The baby goats were so sweet and nuzzled up to us! There’s even a train ride around the property, with some fun tidbits about trains in the west. We also tried our hand at a few of the lawn games set out in the play area.

For lunch, we got a bbq brisket sandwich, a hamburger, and chicken tenders. Drink purchases are also refillable all day, which is a great deal! There are seven food and drink options on the property, including a candy shop, ice cream, adult beverages, and snack items.

One detail that really impressed us about Old Tucson was the variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The Arizona sun can wear out kids especially, and we found plenty of places to take a break, while still having fun. Don’t miss the indoor children’s museum, or the mine tour! The stagecoach ride is also a good option.

Strollers are welcome, and be sure to bring hats, sunscreen, and water to make your day enjoyable.

Old Tucson is located at 201 Kinney Rd, Tucson, AZ 85735 and open 10:30am-5pm. More information and tickets can be found on their website.
