Ma-Ha Tuak Park in Phoenix sits almost against the South Mountain Park and Preserve, with a fun woodchip playground for kids to enjoy. We stopped by for some playtime after a visit to the nearby Mystery Castle!
Kids will likely gravitate to the tower, which has two slides, one from the first level and one tube slide from the second level. Access to the second level is from a ladder in the middle. This worked well for the multiple ages of our kiddos – the older ones could climb the ladder, but the toddler couldn’t. She enjoyed the smaller slide for sure!
There is an obstacle course type nearby, which had some unique play options. One was a bar to swing on, our 6 year old loved this! You also can’t miss the climbing rope pyramid. The spacing is pretty big, but there were no issues for the older kiddos to get to the top. This mama may have also made the climb.
Next to the tower is a toddler playground, with its own slide and climbing options. We really like parks with two playgrounds, and the toddler one mirroring the big kid play options on a smaller scale. It makes the “look what I can do” competition of siblings a little more fun, but not frustrating.
There are also four swings at this park, two toddler and two regular swings, plus a spinning chair. Overall, it was a fun park stop! Not one to drive to from a distance, but a good option for south Phoenix or lower West Valley.
Ma-Ha Tuak Park in Scottsdale also offers a restroom (no doors on the stalls by the way, typical of City of Phoenix park bathrooms), covered ramadas for picnics, grills, and a walking path. There are also basketball courts and volleyball courts. Note that we could constantly hear gun noise from the nearby shooting range, but it wasn’t over powering.
