Local Business Spotlight: Casita Curated Play

Casita Curated Play is a Phoenix based business that offers open ended play items and all in one sensory bins. The owner, Emily, is a mama herself that understands and treasures the value of hands on, simple, meaningful play time that is a bridge to learning more about the world we live in.

The sensory kits come in beautiful wooden boxes with almost a dozen themes! Choose a summer seashore kit, or a fairy fantasy kit; the dino dig kit and farm babies kit are also gorgeous. There’s even a desert dwellers sensory kit, with authentic cholla and driftwood – perfect for Arizona kids! Emily clearly puts deep thought in to her kits, with quality items that will last.

She also offers a handful of playdough kits and will custom make a kit with a variety of fillers and extras. Fillers range from sand, rice, beans and more. Emily’s themes are visually stunning! Even adults will enjoy combing through a sensory bin.

What we are currently in love with is the Casita Curiosity Club monthly subscriptions. Each month a new themed sensory collection will be mailed to subscribers. The first July theme of honeybees is amazing! It’s been the best stepping stone for learning about these insects, and has provided busy time for our two younger children while our oldest is doing school. That said, even our eight year old has loved playing with this set! (Please note that there are small pieces included; carefully watch younger children when playing.)

You may have spotted Casita Curated Play at the Uptown Farmers Market, where she sells her sensory items and offers a free Market Pop Up Play experience for kids! She also offers birthday party packages. Back in February 2020, we invited her to join our second Phoenix With Kids park playdate and her sensory bins were a huge hit!

If you’re looking for a new indoor activity this summer, a quiet time option, or want to turn off the TV more, check out the sensory bins from Casita Curated Play. Learn more at www.casitacuratedplay.com.
