My daughter requested a playground with purple, my son asked for a curly Q slide and sand; viola, Kachina Park in Phoenix! I grew up playing in this area and love this little neighborhood park. Lots of grass for running around, shade to help with the heat and a good playground make it a frequent stop for us.
Playground
This sand playground has a large shade cover which is great for afternoon shade. There are monkey bars, bridges, games, slides, curl q slide, toddler swings, big kid swings, a rock wall, and balance beams on the big kids’ playground.
There is a water spout on the north side of the sandy playground that is great for those sand toys you keep in your car. Grab buckets, shovels, etc at the dollar store in case you leave them there!
The little kid playground has slides, steps, climbing bars, and a small shade on top. There is afternoon shade as well.
Picnic
One covered ramada with one full bench and one-half bench is available first come first serve. There are a couple of picnic tables scattered throughout the park that are also available first come first serve.
Park
Amenities at Kachina Park in Phoenix include large grassy area, playground, ramada, picnic table and is open from 6:30 am to 8 pm. For information on renting ramadas, inflatables, and more, check the cities website here.
