Hudson Park in Tempe

Hudson Park in Tempe is a great place to play and cool off! This park is located near Apache and Rural and offers a fun play day of climbing, skating, walking, and splashing.

Splash Pad

My favorite thing about this splash pad was that the water looked so blue when it landed on the ground. The cool effect you can only kind of see in pictures. There are spray poles, misters, buckets for dropping water. The water stays on for at least 10 minutes and rotates through the structures in a circle pattern and then all of them at the same time, and then individually.

The little and big kid sand playgrounds are next to each other and it is easy to keep an eye on multiple aged kids here.

The little kid’s playground is shaded and offers climbing, sliding, bridge, and rock wall. It also has a car, a ride-on structure, and a couple of excavators.

The big kid’s playground is shaded, offering lots of climbing, monkey bars, a triple slide, steps, a rock wall and rock for climbing. There are also spinners and seats scattered around for playing. There is also a tire swing that was fun as well.

This little music play area was a fun stop, but not shaded. There were also two toddler swings to stop by and swing on.

There are lots of picnic tables scattered throughout the park. There are a few covered ramadas that you are able to reserve for parties. For reservation information check here.

Hudson Park in Tempe is the first of the approved park renovation and restoration programs. This gorgeous public art was fun to explore and check out all the meaningful messages. For more information and photos read here.

Getting There

There are parking spots along E Williams Street, close to the ramadas. It’s only a short hike to the playground and splash pad area. I did not see convenient parking next to the splash pad.
