Give Garden Subscription Cooking Boxes come from a Phoenix based mom, Stephanie Lucas. She designed the boxes to be a monthly delivery of either a main dish, side, dessert or appetizer, with all the ingredients included to make the recipe. It’s a fun experience for children and the whole family! Healthy eating starts at home, and what better way to encourage this than having a child prepare what they eat.
Give Garden Subscription Cooking Boxes also donates 15% of a subscription to a local charity of your choice! This can go towards school organizations, sports team, or favorite charity, a great way to make a difference in more ways than one.
We had a chance to try a Give Garden box this month! Two emails alerted us when the box was scheduled to be delivered, which was great since it’s still on the warm side here in Phoenix. Our daughter dove right in to opening the box! The recipe card had some fun facts and nutritional information, and the actual recipe had needed supplies to cook, as well as step by step instructions.
This recipe was a good challenge for our daughter, as it had multiple steps involving waiting while things cooked. We do more baking than cooking, and more treats than meal recipes. The Cheesy Broccoli Potato Skins also used familiar foods in a new way! It was fun to assemble them, and then give a taste test. Two thumbs up from us!
As a parent, I appreciated that the steps listed where an adult might need to assist the child. This would be handy for making cooking dinner a family activity, or assisting younger ones. Our eight year old was able to accomplish most of the directions herself! The ingredients were all fresh, even in waiting in the fridge for 24hrs.
Give Garden has three different types of subscription boxes, starting at $19.99/month. You can cancel at any time. Cost is about $3/serving on average. This would make an amazing gift to a child for birthday or Christmas! Learn more on their website: https://www.give.garden
