Locally owned and operated, District Coffee in Scottsdale strives to give you the best product, best price and in the best space possible. Well, they did it! The combination coffee shop and playground has won me over. A place for coffee that your kids can play at? What could be better?
District Coffee offers espresso, cold brew, iced teas, smoothies, lemonades and more specialty drinks. They offer a small selection of pastries, cookies, as well as pouches and juice boxes for kids. Great for a recharge or quick snack while playing. I tasted a dirty chai tea latte and a golden latte and they were delicious. The kids devoured their smoothies, along with a cinnamon roll. We also grabbed a couple pouches from inside, great for hydration and little break from playing.
Postmates delivery has their menu here.
There is outdoor tables and seating between the playground and coffee shop offering corn hole and tossing games. The layout makes it great for watching the kids while they play if you need to get some work done. Also offering numerous spots for families to spread out in the shade.
The big kids playground offers a large slide, rock wall, different versions of climbing walls, slide pole, monkey bars a spiderweb, climbing wall and more. Spread out enough for lots of kids to play, but small enough that you could keep an eye on all the kids. This area is not shaded.
The little kids playground has a slides, stairs, slide pole, steering wheel and a large shade covering most of the playground.
The absolute best part of the turf! No sand or wood chips in sight! Personally I can’t tell you how much I loved this. It was soft, I didn’t have to worry about my shoes and no splinters from wood chips. I am ruined for all other playgrounds now.
District Coffee in Scottsdale is located off Shea Blvd, a few miles east of the 101. This out of the way location makes it not as busy as some of the places in the valley that offer similar set ups. It is located inside of the McDowell Mountain Community Church. They are open Monday – Friday 7:00am – 4:30pm, and Saturday 7:00am – 1:00 pm.
There is plenty of covered parking available off 124th street. You can’t miss the playground. Head towards the playground and into the building through the north side doors to find District Coffee. Follow District Coffee on Instagram or Facebook for updates on what special flavors they have!
