Deer Valley Park in Phoenix is a combo playground, seasonal pool, and community center. We just explored the playground during our visit with friends and had a fun afternoon of play on a beautiful winter day.
There are two colorful playground structures, one for toddlers, and the other for ages 5-12. The first is fully shaded and the second is partially shaded. The toddler swings and older kid swings are also far apart. As a mom with multiple ages, there was a lot of running back and forth to push kids on the swings or check on a tumble. Guess that’s how to get a workout! Also note that this is a woodchip park.
The playgrounds both have slides, and some fun climbing features. The kids always love finding a faux rock wall! The older kid playground has this twisty half circle which the kids loved! Lots of games of tag for our kiddos. Overall, it was a nice switch up from our normal Scottsdale park visits. We wouldn’t recommend traveling a distance to play here, but it’s easily accessible off the 101, so a good option for meeting friends halfway (like we did).
This little neighborhood park also has a few benches (but not many), and basketball courts and tennis courts. Restrooms are at the pool. Sidewalks are around the playground, perfect for bikes and scooters or rollover blades, and the walking paths continue around the park.
Deer Valley Park in Phoenix has the extra amenities of a community center, and pool. The pool includes: water slide, beach deck entry, ADA chair lift, ADA stairs. Kids admission $1 Adults $3. More info including hours can be found here.
