Tours

In 1959 the Danzeisen family bought their first dairy farm in Glendale. And then bought cows of course! Milk comes straight from the farm and gets bottled into ice cold glass containers to ensure pristine freshness and the best taste possible. All milk is sold in their signature bottles. Their bottling process ensures that your last sip is just as good as your first sip!

In 2013 they decided to use glass bottles and by November 2014 they had transformed to all glass bottles. There are appropriate 2500 cows milked around the clock and they bottle milk 4 days a week at the facility. You receive a $2 bottle credit for returning your glass bottles. The recycled bottles, along with all new bottles go through an extensive sanitizer cycle similar to what your dishwasher does, only bigger!

Tours of the facility will be returning soon. During the facility tour you can see everything from the milk coming in from the silo to the truck pulling away with the bottles to do early morning grocery store deliveries.

All milk gets tested for quality. No antibiotics are ever used. Also, all color comes from naturally occurring ingredients and not from dyes.

Tour tip. If you have young kids that will be distracted by toys, possibly don’t let them start playing. My 3-year-olds had a hard time leaving the toys to go on the tour. Also if your children are scared of loud noises, maybe check ahead for a nonbottling day and let them know that your child gets nervous. Also, remember this is a working facility and keep your children safe and stand back from all moving parts. Even is they aren’t moving during your visit!

Butter Making Class

Tours of the facility will be returning shortly, but in the meantime sign up to make your own butter! We took a butter-making class and had fun turning ours into cinnamon-flavored fresh butter. You can also make whipped cream. You walk away with a jar of butter and some buttermilk! The cost is $12 a station, with up to 3-4 people at a station.

And then there’s the store…. the milk, the lemonade, the orange juice, the coffee, so many local vendors and of course the milkshakes!

In the store, there is also a dining area with farm toys and an original milk truck for the kids to play on. Our kids had fun delivering milk to everyone!
