City Skate in Downtown Phoenix

Don’t miss City Skate in downtown Phoenix - we had such a fun time skating on a real ice rink amid festive music and decor!

Yes, Phoenix has indoor ice rinks BUT there’s something extra special about an outdoor option. We joined the 4pm skate session, and it wasn’t busy.

The employees were great, giving tips for lacing up skates properly, and even taking photos. Our 4-year-old wasn’t the youngest on the ice either. Anyone can try ice skating! We saw toddlers and teens and grandparents smiling and getting in the Christmas spirit.

Another aspect we enjoyed was that the 90 min skate time allowed us to take breaks when needed, and not feel obligated to make the most of our time. There are benches just outside of the rink, and more benches down the steps by the lockers.

Thank you to CityScape for hosting us!

City Skate runs now through Jan 1, 2023, at Patriot’s Park – inside CityScape: 11 W. Washington Street, Phoenix. This includes Christmas Day and New Year’s Day!

Four sessions are available, starting at 4pm, and run for 90 min each. General admission is $20/person, $13/child ages 4-8 (3 and under are free), and includes skate rental! $5 discount for bringing your own skates. The restrooms are just outside the skating area. There are lockers available to store bags and shoes, 3 quarters are needed. No snacks or water is sold on-site. More info is on their website!

Of note, the skating rink at City Skate in Downtown Phoenix does not validate parking at the CityScape garage, but the CVS nearby does! Or do what we did and hop over to 810 Bowling for an hour of fun and food before or after skating, and have them validate parking.

More great things to do this holiday season can be found on our events calendar!
