Trash Truck Class From City of Scottsdale

In class we had a lesson on what to recycle and how it all works. Then we ran through the routine of the actual truck and got weighed on the station. We weighed in at 2720 lbs, over a ton!! Then we saw the whole routine of how the trucks dump the trash, the crane picks it up, packs it on a semi and the semi is off to the Salt River Landfill.

Train Class from The City of Scottsdale

Our class met at the McCormick-Stillman railroad park out front and from there we got a tour of the park, a ride on the train and carousel, to explore the museum, and then it was off to work in the workshop in the back. The kids got to climb on trains, see the tools they use and ask questions.

Sportsball Classes through City of Scottsdale

We had so much fun taking our Sports Ball class at Horizon through the City of Scottsdale. We worked on hockey, soccer, basketball, football. We learned about listening to instructions. Followed Coach’s instructions. Not going to lie, it’s not easy chasing two kids around in class but as long as they have fun it’s worth it! The kids even had an awards ceremony on the last day of class.

Things That Go Vroom from City of Scottsdale

After a brief introduction in the classroom, we headed out to the mechanic’s shop for a tour of the fleet’s mechanic area. It was fun to see all the vehicles they were working on. Then we headed outside where we got to see a police SUV, police SWAT vehicle, and garbage truck. Kids were able to climb on and test drive all the vehicles as well as talk to their workers. Vehicles will vary depending on availability.
