Cafe Au Plait in Scottsdale

Cafe Au Plait in Scottsdale is an upscale, beautiful new coffee shop and play area! We were thrilled to randomly stumble across this place on Instagram. We love coffee shops, especially independent ones, and those that offer a kid friendly space are some of our top favorites. (Read about our other favorites here!)

The play area is a gated with a wide variety of toys and activities. Currently there is a mini climbing tower with a slide, a train set and cars, books, baby toys, a bean bag toss game, puzzles, a small kitchen, and a foam pit. We’d say this area is best suited for ages 6 and under. But our 7 year old had a great time playing with our 3 year old, and other children. Shoes and drinks without lids are not allowed inside the play area. Staying to play is $5/child; stay as long as you like (we played almost 3 hours).

There are about half a dozen chairs and tables for seating, plus a nice bar section, all with easy viewing of the play area. There’s also a beautifully back patio! Cafe Au Plait offers coffee and tea drinks, smoothies, açaí bowls, and a handful of snack options, like in house made mini liege waffles and juice boxes for kids. The waffles were delicious!

There are two restrooms in the back of the shop, one with a changing table. We also noticed a walking trail behind the shop, perfect for family walks or bike trips from nearby neighborhoods! They are open Monday-Saturday, 7am-4pm.

If you’re looking for a new location for play dates or just want to chill while your kids play, Cafe Au Plait is a wonderful option. Maybe we’ll see you there!
