My entire family has signed up for the Anthem Turkey Trot! We’ll be at the back of the line with our stroller. My dad, along with my wife Jana, and myself… pushing our two year old in the stroller. Catch us if you can!
Granted, my wife is the real runner in our family (she just completed a half marathon earlier this month in the PHX10K).
They just sent me the schedule for Thursday, which is:
- 6:30 a.m. Packet pick up and late registration opens at the Anthem Community Center
- 8:30 a.m. 10km Run begins
- 9:00 a.m. 5km Run begins
- 9:45 a.m. 10km awards presentation
- 10:00 a.m. Kid’s dash begins
- 10:15 a.m. 5km awards presentation & raffle
We’re doing this more for fun, than to get a good time. It’s my first 5K, so I’m rather excited… but admit that I’ll be near the end of the pack due to pushing a stroller. Oh well, it’s Thanksgiving and I applaud my wife for the idea which gets us out of the house early in the morning.
Have a delightful Thanksgiving, to you all!
Update: We did it! The event was a smashing success! Over 1,000 runners, and my notes and some photos of the Anthem Turkey Trot are here.
