We stumbled across Stonegate Equestrian Park in Scottsdale a while back and loved it so much, the kids keep asking to go to the horse park! There are nearby farms and lots of horse properties, so there are often lots of horses around. The nature trail is great for hikes and it has never been crowded when we are there.

Arcadia Park in Scottsdale is very familiar to me. I grew playing here on the corner of 56th and Indian School. The playground has changed but it’s still such a fun park. Also good to know that it is adjacent to Ingleside Middle School and when school is released it is swarmed with kids, so possibly not the best time of day to visit.

It also features one basketball court and three pickleball courts, all lighted so you can play after the sun goes down. Have you been to Horizon Park in Scottsdale? It’s a sweet park located on Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. to the east of the 101. This park runs along the canal, and is a great starting point for a run or walk. The south playground got a remodel completed in February 2020!

Chaparral Park in Scottsdale is a beautiful strip between Chaparral and McDonald Roads, and features a lake, the Scottsdale Greenbelt, and a dog park. The most unique feature is the playground the city revealed in 2018. This is the first playground in Arizona designated as a National Demonstration site for accessibility practices. It’s a great spot for walking, picnics and sports.

Eldorado Park in Scottsdale includes everything from Oak to McDowell. I could easily spend the whole day here exploring and playing! From the playgrounds to a fishing lake and also a bike trail, there is fun for everyone.

We’ve loved this park for years, even if the equipment was older, and are happy to report that the update kept some of the charm while making it fresh and exciting to kids and parents.

Vista Del Camino Park in Scottsdale

Vista Del Camino Park is part of the Scottsdale green belt, between Thomas and McKellips. It’s a great area in South Scottsdale to spend time outside. There is a walking path, lots of places to play sport, playgrounds, a lake and of course, a splash pad!
